GREAT WAY TO START OFF!  Posted February 16th

J.R. Fitzpatrick Fourth In TRG Camping World Truck at Daytona Led most laps and top rookie Daytona Beach, Florida (February 13, 2009) - Friday the 13th proved to be a very rewarding day for John Ryan (J.R.) Fitzpatrick and his No. 7 Mammoet Chevrolet Silverado. J.R. finished fourth in today's season opening NASCAR Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway. - Led most laps with 17 - Top finishing rookie - Top finishing Chevrolet Silverado - Won Wix Filters Lap Leader Award - Raybestos Rookie of the Race Award Fitzpatrick started the 250-mile race from his fourteenth qualifying position. It didn't take the Cambridge, Ontario, Canada resident long to make his way into the top 10 and then into the top five and eventually the lead. Avoiding a close call on lap 19 when a truck in front got loose and then narrowly missing a big wreck in front of him on lap 47. Following those nervous moments, Fitzpatrick was able to drive his way into the lead on lap 71. The Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidate used the first 71 laps to methodically run in top 10. When the chance to lead presented itself the 20 year old Canadian was up to the task. He took the lead on lap 71 with NASCAR sensation Kyle Busch in his mirror. Unfazed Fitzpatrick led until the lap 88before being shuffled back. The team saved four sticker tires for the run to the finish which proved to be a good call. Fitzpatrick was able to find his way through the last laps of mayhem to bring the No. 71 Mammoet Chevy home in fourth. "The truck was really hooked up on the bottom," Fitzpatrick said. "We had really good strategy going at the end, we just ran out of time. I had a heck of time leading. That was a lot of fun. It was my first time here and first time racing with all of these guys. It is pretty sweet; I was getting pushed around by Kyle Busch, which is the coolest thing that has ever happened to me." "We were working all through practice to get the thing to stay on the bottom. We had it set in our minds that if they were going to pass they were going to pass on the outside. This thing just stuck right at the bottom. For Butch Hylton and the whole crew and Mammoet this is awesome." "When the six truck got loose I hit my brake and got into him a little. I tried not to turn him and he gathered it back up. It was hard when you are going that fast. Then into turn one - that was crazy, I am not sure how I missed that, it was unbelievable." "My spotter David (Keith) did a great job. We were working great together. I pulled out a couple of times when I should have stayed at the bottom. I was getting anxious I wanted to get to the front. It was great. The whole group did a fantastic job. The last run on new tires was great. We were a little tight, but we knew we were going to be early and it was going to come to me later. We passed a lot of trucks at the end and it was working great. If we had a little more time we probably could have got them. I was working great underneath." For Kevin Buckler, TRG Motorsports team owner, this is nice way to leave Daytona. "We had a tough ARCA race and didn't make the 500, but J.R. really picked up this whole team tonight," Buckler said. "He took great direction all race from David the spotter and Butch in the pits. As the race went on his pit stops got better as he learned from the guys. He went to school on drafting and running with some real veterans and even led the most laps. What a night!" Round two of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be run next weekend on Saturday, February 2st at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. START YOU ENGINES!  Posted February 4th

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines! The Roys Race into 2009 by Partnering with TRG Motorsports to Provide Music, Prizes and Promotions to NASCAR and Country Music Fans All Along the Race Circuit! Nashville, TN - The Roys will be kicking off their partnership with the NASCAR team of TRG Motorsports at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida for an exciting start to the 2009 race season. After meeting the TRG Motorsports team in 2008 and attending several events, Lee and Elaine Roy started working with the team to find ways to bring more to their fans. Several cities on the circuit are targeted for exclusive performances the night before the race, exciting promotions, giveaways and more! Lee Roy, one half of the brother-sister duo, talks about his love for racing, “I’ve been a fan of racing for a long time. I remember watching The Intimidator Dale Earnhardt and seeing the black number 3 make its way up the field. There’s just something about the adrenaline you get from watching a traffic jam going 200 miles an hour. I was so excited when we got the call to go hang with TRG Motorsports at Nashville Superspeedway, but then to do it again at Bristol – the track of all tracks – was a dream come true! I couldn’t think of a better fit for us! NASCAR fans are country music fans!” Elaine Roy commented on being an honorary crew chief, “NASCAR for me is a new experience. I had always seen it on television but I experienced it live for the first time at the Nashville Superspeedway and was amazed at what happens behind the scenes before the races!! Then when the race began I really felt the adrenaline rush that all the fans experience. It was very exciting and what a thrill it was to be there!!!” As a matter of fact, The Roys have been very busy! Most recently, they returned from Washington, D.C. where they were the exclusive entertainment for the official departure of President George W. Bush at Andrews Air Force Base. They performed the National Anthem and other songs for the outgoing President and the crowd that came to bid him farewell. In 2008, you may remember seeing The Roys walk the Orange Carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May, perform the National Anthem at Fenway Park in Boston in July, or whip up some great southern cooking with Hazel Smith on Southern Fried Flicks in November, all while touring with “The Possum”, George Jones. With success on the Music Row charts with three singles in 2008, The Roys are ready to race into 2009 and bring the NASCAR fans with them. “We are just as excited about this partnership as The Roys are about auto racing,” said Team Principal, Kevin Buckler. “The Roys are a real class act and their dedication to country music mirrors our dedication for racing. We are really looking forward to working with them to give back to our fans through this concert series and promotions that we have planned along the way.” TRG Motorsports has a lot planned for their season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. The team will field an entry for the youngest Canadian stock car racing champion, J.R. Fitzpatrick in both the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, before making their debut in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the prestigious Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 15, 2009. GREAT REVIEW!!  Posted March 7th

The following was taken from Music Row. It's a review from the Music Row show by Mr. Robert K Oermann! After some more schmoozing, the brother-sister team The Roys provided the event's finale. Elaine's lilting hillbilly soprano and Lee's hearty country-boy tenor were flawless in both lead and harmony passages. "Workin' Girl Blues" kicked butt, and "Grandpa's Barn" tugged heartstrings. The result was the strongest set ever performed at this six-year-old Music Row tradition.

UPDATE ON THE CD  Posted July 30th

This spring The Roys have been in the studio recording a brand new album in Nashville. It will feature their new single Workin' Girl Blues to be released at radio at the end of July. The Workin' Girl Blues video will be released to media outlets also. "We are so excited about this new album", said Elaine. "We were very fortunate to get some great songs from songwriters here in town and working with our new producer Kenny Royster and all the musicians was just an unbelievable dream come true for us." "We definately have expanded our sound to bring it into 2007", said Lee. "We pushed ourselves and really evolved our sound to new places." "We can't wait for everyone to hear the new sound."
